iconic women // Madonna

March 23, 2012

Caryn Dugan as Madonna.

I chose Madonna because of her indomitability in life.  She left Detroit for New York with $35 in her pocket and became one of the most iconic women in (music) history by rising to the top with gumption and focus. It was her way or no way – and I kind of like that.  I admire the way she runs her life and how her hard work has brought success, again and again.

Although I do rock out to most of her tunes, it’s not so much the music that I connect to with this Queen of Pop, but more so the innate ability she has had over the last three decades to re-invent herself over and over again and each time reaching professional success.  Never following the music trends, she has led the industry with a pack of followers behind her even after each morph of persona.

As we wrap up the week, we would like to specially thank Holly and Felisa from ProColour Salon for transforming us into these beautiful, iconic women, and to Blake Fehl for being our incredibly talented photographer. M & J.

A recap of the week:

Audrey Hepburn

Frida Kahlo

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

Lucille Ball
