These things are kind of the worst, right? It’s almost like setting yourself up for failure.
However, for 2013 I’ve set a few goals anyway. I’m avoiding the word resolution – trying to trick myself by using a different name. Here’s to making 2013 a happier, better year.
1. Find a job. I’m in this ‘career’ limbo. I like what I’m doing but it’s not permanent – yet. I don’t want any ol’ 9-5. I want something that will challenge me, and that I like getting up for in the morning. So, I guess I should maybe change this to find a way to make money doing something that makes me happy, really happy.
2. Spend time on relationships. This is big one for me – maybe the biggest. I’m not proud to admit that one of my most meaningful and longest friendships has all but vanished this year because I didn’t put in the needed time to fix it. It was silly and selfish of me, and it’s something I wish to improve in 2013.
3. Dress well. I’m not talking about switching all my Forever 21 pieces for J. Crew. I simply want to make an effort each time I leave the house. No more leggings to the grocery store. (My one exception is leggings brunch, because I just can’t wear jeans if I’m expected to consume brie bites for six hours.)
4. Read more. And maybe visit that gorgeous new Central Library a bit more too. Books, eh? Reading suggestions welcomed.
What do you resolve to do for the 2013? I’d love to hear about the changes you’re making or goals you’re setting.
